Piñata Cake

This is a winner among all kids for sure, because it contains the  surprise factor which is essential to grab kid's attention and the fact that it can be made of whatever flavour is they prefer makes it even better! This one was made to celebrate a spring writing contest I promoted at the school library and the entries were a success -  I guess they must have felt motivated! ;)

Ingredients:
  • 5 eggs
  •  2 cups Flour
  •  baking powder
  •  125g unsalted butter
  •  1 1/5 cups of sugar
  •  1 cup of milk
  •  3 oranges
  •   1/2 cup of sunflower oil

Beat butter at room temperature with the sugar until it forms a white dough. Add 1/2 cup of sunflower oil and add the eggs one by one. Beat between each egg. Add this mixture to the flour and baking powder and add a glass of milk. Add the zest of 1 orange and the juice of 3 oranges. Beat again. Pour into a mold buttered and dusted with flour and take to pre-heated oven at 180 º for about 30m. Once cooled, unmold the cake, open a sort of crater almost the entire diameter of the cake, but do not reach to the bottom, fill with the preferred goodies and recap it, jining very well the bits removed previously. Decorate to taste.

Ingredientes:
  • 5 ovos
  • 2 chávenas de farinha
  • fermento
  • 125g manteiga sem sal
  • 1 e1/5 chávenas de açúcar
  • 1 copo de leite
  • 3 laranjas

Decorar a gosto.
